At the cost of breaking my “no more politics” policy for my posts, I do have to ask this today after seeing multiple high-level-leader responses to yesterday’s election results, a pattern after every election in the past decade. The line “Democracy is in danger” has been used as a tagline in every possible scenario for the past 12 years by the Opposition. Isn’t democracy really in danger when the losing side refuses to accept the people’s mandate with grace? Isn’t democracy really in danger when a loss leads not to introspection, but to convenient and selective foul cries as well as a cheap questioning of the common man’s political awareness and intelligence?
