It’s so sad that media houses in our country don’t face any serious consequence, no matter how many times they air or publish false news or news lacking proper source/proof. The number of news websites and channels which reported the death of Jayalalitha, only based on a local news channel’s report, without even bothering to wait for an official press release from the hospital, is just a reflection of what has been happening every day for the past two to three years. High time the government does something about this without worrying what crusaders of free speech would say. Because journalism is not a place where you bring in your imagination and love for sensationalism, it’s a place for facts and truth!
